Hensoldt's South Korean partner delivers first defensive aids for military helos

Hensoldt’s South Korean partner has begun deliveries of defensive aids systems (DAS) for the country’s fleet of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) Surion transport and utility helicopters.

The German electronics company announced on 21 April that its South Korean partner company, Huneed Technologies, delivered the first eight final assembled AN/AAR-60 missile launch detection systems (MILDS) to KAI on time on 1 April. The delivered missile warning systems will be integrated into the Korean Utility Helicopter (KUH) and the Maritime Utility Helicopter (MUH) variants of the Surion.

As noted in the announcement, Huneed is responsible for the production of two printed circuit boards, configuration and calibration, final assembly and testing of the MILDS missile warner on behalf of Hensoldt within the scope of offset obligations. Hensoldt completed, approved, and commissioned the MILDS final production line in South Korea in less than two years.
