Systematic to release new SitaWare Edge C2 software for dismounts
Systematic has developed a new version of its SitaWare Edge command-and-control (C2) software, Janes has learned.
Due to be unveiled in early June, SitaWare Edge 2.0 is designed to enhance the situational awareness of dismounted personnel. It comprises a series of improvements over legacy Edge 1.0 software, which was first introduced to the market in 2013.
Improvements include the introduction of a 3D map – the same employed on the SitaWare Headquarters system – geospatial analysis tools; an action wheel menu for more rapid access to functions; new symbology; improved user interface menus; and a chat room that can be viewed side-by-side with the map display.
Systematic’s Vice President of Product Management, Hans Jørgen Bohlbro, told Janes that the company had “decided to make an all-new architecture based on the latest software technology”.
Improvements to SitaWare Edge 2.0 include a 3D map, the same employed on the SitaWare Headquarters system.
Edge 2.0 software will be available to Systematic’s existing customers in July 2020 and Bohlbro said “several existing” customers will receive the new software when they upgrade existing licensing agreements.
