US has not provided delivery dates for Patriot system to Switzerland

The US has not yet provided delivery dates for the Patriot surface-to-air missile system to the Swiss government, Daniela Renzo, head of communication at the Swiss Federal Office for Defence Procurement, armasuisse, told Janes on 9 April 2026.
“The DDPS [Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport] is in close contact with the US side to obtain clarity on the delivery schedule,” Renzo said. The detailed components of the Patriot package are part of the confidential foreign military sales (FMS) contractual documentation and are not publicly disclosed, according to Renzo.
“As long as no updated delivery dates or cost information are available, all options remain under review. No decision has been taken so far,” Renzo said.
The DDPS announced in a 1 April press release that it had suspended payments to the US until new delivery dates and payment deadlines were announced by Washington. The US said the delivery of the Patriot system would be delayed in favour of supporting Ukraine. “Switzerland believes that this redefinition of priorities has profoundly altered the contractual framework,” the DDPS press release states.
