Systematic details SitaWare Maritime updates amid evolving naval warfare

Systematic, the Danish command-and-control (C2) software company, released an update to SitaWare Maritime in July 2026, adding mine countermeasures (MCM) planning tools to its existing waterspace management capabilities. The release forms part of the company's twice-yearly update cycle for its SitaWare suite.
Lasse Krabbesmark, SitaWare Maritime product manager, told Janes, the defence intelligence provider, in October 2026 that the software builds on SitaWare Headquarters (HQ), a command-and-control system for fixed and mobile headquarters. “SitaWare Maritime is basically an add-on to SitaWare HQ,” he said, “and is the system for larger platforms such as destroyers and frigates as well as HQs ashore”. The July update also introduced a briefing application for SitaWare HQ and expanded artificial intelligence (AI) tools in SitaWare Insight, the suite's intelligence-analysis software.
He said SitaWare Frontline, the suite's platform-level software, can equip smaller vessels, while SitaWare Edge, its dismounted-user application, can support boarding teams and maritime special forces.
Krabbesmark said waterspace management coordinates units conducting anti-submarine warfare (ASW), while prevention of mutual interference helps submarines operate safely alongside other activities. Systematic announced these submarine-planning tools on 25 February 2026, before the July MCM update.
Planners can plot routes and action areas, with the software immediately flagging potential conflicts between platforms, he said. Checks cover horizontal and vertical safety distances and separation in time. Underwater obstacles are not yet considered, but he said this was planned for a later version.
