US simulation software firm Plexsys has developed new features in its Advanced Simulation Combat Operations Trainer (ASCOT) 7 and showcased these at the 2026 International Training Technology Exhibition and Conference (ITEC 26) held in London in April.

ASCOT 7 is primarily used in the training of command and control (C2) mission aircrews.

Adam Siler, a modelling and simulation specialist for Plexsys, told Janes at ITEC 26 that a recent addition has been digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) jamming or spoofing “where instead of just trying to give a bunch of radar noise at a sensor, we could actually insert a bunch of false targets into a sensor. Most modern electronic attack systems are going to use some technique like that.”

“A lot of our recent development has been in the space domain,” Siler said, with Plexsys working closely with space agencies to reflect satellite data transport layers in training. “We are able to replicate the space data network and combine that with Link 16 tactical communications so that you can move messages from one L16 network to another via the satellite communications” he said.
