SAHA 2026: Baykar, Edge to integrate Al Tariq guided bomb with Akinci UAV

Turkey's Baykar Technology will support the integration of the Al Tariq guided bomb made by the United Arab Emirates' (UAE's) Edge Group on its Bayraktar Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), it was announced on 8 May 2026.
Edge said this was one of two agreements it signed with Baykar during the SAHA exhibition held in Istanbul from 4-8 May, with the other establishing a commercial framework under which the two companies will offer each other's products to their respective customers.
Edge described the agreements as “the latest milestones in a growing strategic alliance” between the two companies. The Emirati company announced in January 2024 that its Desert Sting 16 small guided bomb would be integrated on the Bayraktar TB2, a much smaller UAV made by Baykar.
Baykar did not announce the agreements.
Developed with South Africa's Denel Dynamics, the Al Tariq is a modular kit for Mk 81, Mk 82, and Mk 83 general purpose aircraft bombs with different guidance and fuzing options, as well as a wing kit to extend its range to up to 120 km, according to Edge.
The only aircraft that the Al Tariq is confirmed to have been integrated with is the Dassault Mirage 2000-9 multirole fighter, a type flown by the UAE's air force, but it has also been seen on Egyptian F-16s in flight.
Mk 80 series bombs with Turkish guidance kits have already been integrated with the Akıncı. In April the KGK-82-SİHA (Wing-Assisted Guidance Kit: Kanatlı Güdüm Kiti -82- Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle: Silahlı İnsansız Hava Aracı) was tested after development by Turkey's state-owned Tubitak Sage Defense Industry Research and Development Institute .
