Boeing deny Eagle sale to Poland, despite related US DoD contract

Poland has not selected the F-15 Eagle combat aircraft despite the country appearing in a related US Department of Defense (DoD) contract listing for the type, Boeing told Janes on 25 August 2026.

The DoD notification posted the day prior listed Poland among known international Foreign Military Sales (FMS) operators of the F-15 – Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and South Korea (and also Indonesia as another current non-operator of the type) – as beneficiaries of a USD131.23 billion contract for the F-15 Eagle Crest production, modernisation and sustainment programme. Janes understands that this Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract establishes a broad contracting structure that can support future F-15 production, upgrades, and FMS for several potential countries.

“Poland has not yet made a decision,” a Boeing representative said (he added that the FMS case for Indonesia expired earlier in the year, and is no longer active). The Polish Ministry of National Defence (MND) directed Janes to the Polish Armaments Agency, which had not responded to a request for clarification and comment on the contract listing at the time of publication.

Boeing formally pitched the latest variant F-15EX Eagle II to Poland in September 2023, saying the aircraft would afford “superior interoperability, supportability and affordability, along with a robust industry plan that would support Poland's goal of developing independent defence capabilities”.
