Covid-19: Hanwha group reports limited disruption over virus

South Korea’s biggest defence group Hanwha has said that the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) has caused limited disruption to its defence industrial activities.

A Hanwha spokesman told Jane’s on 19 March, “The impact of Covid-19 on our business remains very limited at the moment both financially and technically.”

He added, “As the pandemic is expected to have sweeping effects worldwide, we are still braced for any potential impact.”

The Hanwha Corporation is headquartered in Seoul but operates defence technology and industrial facilities across the country. Its defence customers include the Republic of Korea Armed Forces and countries including Finland, India, Malaysia, Norway, Philippines, Poland, and Turkey.
