Development of the first Colombian-Spanish RPAS advances

Colombia and Spain are progressing work on a remotely piloted air system (RPAS) that has been in development since early 2019.

The Sistema RPAS Táctico de Altas Prestaciones (SiRTAP) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) being developed by Aeronautical Industry Corporation (CIAC) in Colombia and Airbus in Spain is to enter into its preliminary design phase, Jane's was recently told by a source familiar with the programme.

For this, 20 Colombian engineers are being trained by Airbus in Spain to improve their engineering and design capabilities, and also that the distribution of the workshare is effective and efficient.
