Rheinmetall has provisionally reported sales growth of 1.7% year-on-year for 2019, bolstered by successes in its defence business line and in spite of ongoing challenges in the automotive sector.
Consolidated sales totalled EUR6.23 billion (USD6.93 billion) in 2019, up EUR107 million on the prior year, which was an increase of 1.7% (or 0.5% when adjusted for currency and portfolio effects).
Sales in its defence portfolio were EUR3.52 billion, which was organic growth of 7.6%, while order intake for defence was EUR5.19 billion, a slight drop on the EUR5.57 billion reported in 2018.
