France’s Naval Group has pledged to award to Australian industry subcontracting deals with more than half the total value of the AUD80 billion (USD55.15 billion) programme to locally build 12 Attack-class submarines for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

Reynolds added that the Australian government would “hold Naval Group to account on their contractual commitment to maximise Australian industry involvement in this programme”.
