The Venezuelan frigate Almirante Brion (F-22) launched a MBDA Otomat missile as part of the Venezuelan military's exercise 'Bolivarian Shield 2020' ('Escudo Bolivariano 2020'), marking the first time since 2013 the country's naval forces have fired a live missile in an exercise.

A video reviewed by Jane's shows a missile fired from Almirante Brion at what appears to be a retired oil tanker during the exercise, which took place on 15-16 February. The video, uploaded to the Venezuelan navy's YouTube account on 16 February, shows the missile hitting the bow of the target ship, which was 73 km away from the warship.
