US-based ACR Group has acquired FreeFlight Systems, an American avionics manufacturer, both companies announced on 24 February.
FreeFlight, which is headquartered in Irving, Texas, and has 59 employees, will operate as an independent subsidiary of ACR, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. FreeFlight will keep its existing management team, brand, products, locations, engineering capabilities, and sales.
Terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed. FreeFlight’s previous owner was Elm Creek Partners, a private investment firm in Dallas, Texas.
ACR, which provides satellite-based tracking, data communications, and emergency location products for aviation, marine, and land environments, said that FreeFlight “better completes” its avionics portfolio.
