Revenue at United States-based KBR's Government Solutions business segment fell 4.6% to USD939 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2019, but rose 13.5% to USD3.9 billion for the full year. The segment's gross profit jumped 21.6% to USD118 million in the fourth quarter and 22.9% to USD430 million for the year, KBR announced on 20 February.
Government Solutions, formerly Government Services, received a boost from several new programmes last year, including a contract to provide networking, communications, and training services for the UK Ministry of Defence, KBR said. The segment also generated about USD150 million in revenue in 2019 to finish helping Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida recover from widespread damage caused by Hurricane Michael in October 2018.
