Brazil to put forward new measures to support its DTIB

The Brazilian Ministry of Defense and the Brazilian Development Bank have signed an agreement to undergo studies to contribute to further support the companies of the local Defence Technological and Industrial Base (DTIB) in the export of their products.

The initiative, signed on 20 February, will see both parties establish over the next 30 days a working plan to define schedules and scopes in order to implement the agreement.

The agreement, which is in line with the National Policy of Defence Industry, will last for two years, with the option for an additional 60 months.

It essentially oversees the design and structure of a range of policies aimed at increase exports through measures related to fiscal incentives, financing plans, increase competitiveness, and the development of new products and technologies, thus enabling the generation of more jobs, income, royalties, and foreign currency.
