L3Harris Technologies is moving its satellite communications business in Victor, New York, to its tactical radio factory in nearby Rochester, New York, according to officials at the US defence company.
About 100 employees will transfer to Rochester, which is about 18 miles northwest of Victor. Rochester offers larger and more modern facilities, L3Harris spokesman Jim Burke said on 20 February.
“The move will enhance efficiencies and increase our competitiveness across the satcom radio business,” Burke told Jane’s .
The consolidation is part of an effort to integrate L3 Technologies and Harris Corporation following their merger last year. The Victor site was part of L3, while the Rochester factory was part of Harris.
