Indian-Russian missile manufacturer BrahMos Aerospace has said it is closing in on exports to countries in Southeast Asia but that any deal would need to be in line with the Indian government’s strategic policies.
The company told Jane’s at the Singapore Airshow on 14 February that several regional countries had expressed interest in procuring the BrahMos cruise missile across land, air, and sea applications. It added that while it has held talks on progressing regional exports contracts, “Indian government policy” would determine the sale.
“Several countries in Southeast Asia are interested but this is a policy matter for the Indian government,” a company official said.
