Under the contract, awarded by Poland's OBR CTM marine science centre in late January and announced on 10 February, Saab will deliver an undisclosed number of Double Eagle SAROV systems in 2021-22. The systems will be used for MCM operations ranging from mine reconnaissance to mine disposal.

The SAROV variant of the Double Eagle can operate as both a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), using a tether, or an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), using its onboard batteries for propulsion.
