The Spanish government has approved the takeover of the last munitions plant operated in the country by General Dynamics European Land Systems - Santa Bárbara Sistemas (GDELS-SBS).
Following its meeting on 4 February, the cabinet of the Spanish government said the proposed sale to Slovakia's MSM Group met the terms for carrying out activities related to national defence, in line with a report carried out by its foreign investments board.
The El Fargue factory, near Granada in the southern region of Andalucia, is the oldest munitions plant in the country and has been run by General Dyanmics since it bought the then government-owned Santa Bárbara Sistemas at the start of the century.
