The US Army has awarded BAE Systems a USD400 million contract modification to cover the purchase of additional Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles (AMPVs).
The service announced on 21 January that it is buying an additional 160 AMPVs with funds from the fiscal year 2019 and 2020 European Reassurance Initiative, as well as the service’s procurement budget. BAE Systems is expected to deliver the additional tranche of vehicles to the service by the end of February 2023, according to the announcement.
The company told Jane’s that this latest buy brings the total number of AMPVs under contract to more than 450.
