Indra is expanding its presence in the cyber security sector with the announcement on 8 January that it is acquiring fellow Spanish company SIA.
The merger with its own existing business will create a team of more than 1,000 specialists and provide synergies in customer and business bases as well as revenue, Indra said.
SIA, founded in 1989, will bring in a “diversified and stable customer base with more than 10,000 security projects, and is the domestic leader for identity and electronic signature solutions,” said Indra.
SIA’s estimated revenues for 2019 were more than EUR60 million (USD67 million), building on increases in sales of more than 15% over the past two years.
