A CV90 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) has test fired a Spike long-range (LR) anti-tank missile for the first time, BAE Systems announced in a press release on 7 January. The company added that this was the first time an integrated long-range anti-tank guided missile has been launched from the CV90.
The testing took place in December in northern Sweden under Arctic conditions with heavy snowfall and low visibility, according to BAE Systems, which reported that the target was defeated at a range more than 2,000 m.
BAE Systems cited the Spike LR testing as an example of increasing the lethality of the CV90, in addition to the Mjölner self-propelled mortar being supplied to the Swedish Army.
