The Pentagon is restricting training of Saudi Arabian military students at US installations and facilities to classrooms following the fatal shooting of three sailors by a Saudi on 6 December at Naval Aviation Schools Command at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida.

Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist said in a 10 December letter that he has also directed Joseph Kernan, the undersecretary of defence for intelligence, to strengthen personnel vetting for international military students (IMS).
