If everything goes according to plan, the US Army will conduct its first flight test of a Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) prototype on 9 December at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, with tentative plans to test extended ranges in 2021.
Brigadier General John Rafferty, the service's head of the Long Range Precision Fires Cross-Functional Team, spoke with Jane's on 4 December about a host of programmes in his portfolio, including PrSM.
"Fingers crossed for Monday's first flight test," the one-star general said, although he declined to unveil whether Lockheed Martin's or Raytheon's PrSM prototype would be first up.
