Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) affiliate Wahaj confirmed on 3 December that it is working with French aircraft equipment company Rafaut to establish local production facilities in Saudi Arabia, with knowledge and technology transfer.
A co-operation agreement was signed during the Dubai Airshow on 17–21 November. Wahaj General Manager Ayman Al-Hazmi said the localisation deal reflects its development strategy to become a “global supplier of aviation components”.
Wahaj specialises in precision metal manufacturing and fabrication, surface treatments, model building and prototyping, and manufacture of complex parts and assemblies. Rafaut designs and develops auxiliary equipment and non-structural components for military aircraft.
