US manufacturer MD Helicopters Inc (MDHI) has revealed its modified schedule to deliver MD 530G armed reconnaissance/light attack helicopters to the government of Malaysia.
Malaysia ordered six MD 530G helicopters from MD Helicopters Inc (MDHI) in 2016 but the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement in early November that the aircraft have yet to be delivered due to "various technical issues".
A spokesperson for MDHI told Jane's that the projected delivery date is the "within the first quarter of 2020". The spokesperson said this schedule has been defined by the prime contractor in the programme. This is Malaysian firm Destini, which in early 2017 acquired the previous prime contractor, Halaman Optima.
