The UK-India Business Council (UKIBC) has established an aerospace and defence industry group to support enhanced collaboration between two countries.
The UKIBC said its new industry group - launched on 29 November - is intended to support bilateral defence trade and enhanced defence industrial co-operation.
It added that the group's core members include Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, Thales UK, MBDA, Leonardo, TVS Logistics, Pexa, Pattonair, and Cranfield University.
"We believe the aerospace and defence industry group can contribute significantly towards building an ecosystem for defence manufacturing in [India]," said the group's chairman, Kishore Jayaraman, president of Rolls Royce for India and South Asia.
