The battalion will be assigned to Panzergrenadierbrigade (Armour Infantry Brigade) 37, which is part of the 10th Panzerdivision.

Hardheim was the home of Panzerflakbataillon (Armour Anti-Aircraft Battalion) 12 equipped with Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns until 2011. The base reopened again two years ago with the arrival of a logistics battalion of the German Army’s Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) special forces command.

More personnel are gradually returning to Panzerbataillon 363’s future base, in which deputy battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Brundisch said EUR55 million (nearly USD61 million) is being invested in 30 building projects to accommodate personnel and for vehicle maintenance facilities.
