The US Air Force (USAF) hopes that the commercial matching funding it has pursued for small business pitch day technologies will incentivise its programme offices to invest in these capabilities.
The service has embarked on a series of pitch days for different efforts such as hypersonics, space, or the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) programme in order to better harness the speed and capabilities of smaller businesses.
