Brazilian Army details LMV 4×4 purchase

Iveco Defence Vehicles has inked a BRL67.8 million (USD 16.2 million) contract with the Brazilian Army for an initial tranche of 32 Light Multirole Vehicle-Brasil (LMV-BR) 4×4 light armoured tactical vehicles.

Vehicle deliveries, in the multipurpose configuration, from Italy will begin in 2020 and continue through 2022, the army told Jane’s on 14 November.

The contract also includes technical documentation, training services, a three-year logistics support package, and tools for maintenance and operation.

The army selected the LMV in 2016 to meet the requirement of its VBMT-LSR 4×4 light armored multipurpose wheeled vehicle project, part of the Army Strategic Program ‘Guarani’ (Prg EE Guarani).
