Norwegian defence and maritime technology supplier Kongsberg Gruppen generated sales of NOK6,046 million (USD658 million) in the third quarter of 2019, according to financial results released on 30 October. The revenue figure represents a rise of over 90% on the same period in 2018, largely due to the acquisition of Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine, which became part of Kongsberg Maritime in April.
However, the company's earnings after tax were 25% lower at NOK115 million than in the same period in 2018.
Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace's (KDA's) sales also grew during the quarter, from NOK1,108 million in Q3 2018 to NOK1,1578 million; an increase of 34% year-on-year (y/y).
