The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) unveiled the Faisal armoured personnel carrier (APC) that it has developed during the Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC) held on 28-30 October.
The BDF said the Faisal is the first armoured vehicle to be designed and developed by its Technical Maintenance Unit. It said the 4×4 vehicle can carry up to eight people, has B6-level armoured protection and a V-shaped hull that ensures maximum protection against explosive devices.
It is equipped with an automatic fire-suppression system, central tyre inflation system, and external security cameras.
The BDF said the Faisal’s design prioritised speed, agility, and sustainability in service. It could be used for internal security as well as military purposes, or adapted into an ambulance, command-and-control, or surveillance and reconnaissance variant as required by the customer.
