Sergei Chemezov, the head of Russian state industrial conglomerate Rostec, has presented a sweeping plan for a broad spectrum of defence and high-technology infrastructure programmes that will be instituted in the coming years.
The details were outlined in a lengthy interview – what has been described as the ‘longest interview’ Chemezov has even given – for Russia’s authoritative RBK media group in the second half of September.
Rostec, which was originally formed in 2007 and has become the centre of gravity for Russia’s defence-industrial sector, is organised into 11 separate holding companies, plus three other holding groups that are civil industrial or high-technology clusters.
