South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to strengthen defence industrial links, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) in Seoul has said.
Following bilateral defence talks in Abu Dhabi on 2 October, the MND said the two nations would look to deepen co-operation in cyber defence and in developing military technologies.
Other agreed priorities included enhanced military exchanges and defence ministerial collaboration.
One of the unstated but likely aims of the agreement is to facilitate defence trade, specifically South Korean exports to UAE, and related industrial collaboration.
South Korea has no record of exporting defence equipment to the UAE but regards the country as a potential customer.
