- The deployment will further hone the service's ability to operate in maritime task groups
The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) is marking another milestone for its air warfare destroyer (AWD) with an inaugural overseas deployment of the first-of-class, HMAS Hobart .
The Aegis-fitted vessel departed Sydney on 26 September as part of a nine-ship RAN task group that will participate in bilateral, and multilateral naval activities across the Asia Pacific over the next four months.
