L3Harris, which was formed less than three months ago with the merger of L3 Technologies and Harris Corp, is starting to realise substantial, tangible benefits from that combination, according to a company official.
For example, L3Harris is now big enough to compete for prime contractor roles in electronic warfare that it could not pursue when it was two separate, smaller entities, said Dana Mehnert, president of L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment and a former Harris executive.
The merger has also allowed L3Harris to strengthen many of its offerings. For instance, L3Harris has developed “a very powerful suite of different communications waveforms” by bringing together technology that was previously split between L3 and Harris, Mehnert told Jane’s on 18 September.
