Airbus has notified German authorities that "several" of its employees may have committed "wrongdoings" with customer documents for two future German procurement projects, according to a brief statement from the aerospace company.
The projects are in the communications, intelligence, and security programme line, Airbus said on 18 September.
"This self-disclosure follows an ongoing internal review with the support of an external law firm," the three-sentence statement says. "The company is fully co-operating with relevant authorities to resolve the matter."
Prosecutors in Munich have begun investigating the possible employee misconduct, Reuters reported.
