Rohde & Schwarz announced on 18 September that it has established a joint venture (JV) called DICOM with MESIT, a subsidiary of the OMNIPOL group of companies.
MESIT is the majority shareholder in DICOM, which is based in Uherské Hradiště in the Czech Republic. DICOM was the trading name for MESIT until a rebranding in January 2016.
The JV is initially focusing on development of the SOVERON portfolio of secure communication systems, including a lightweight, handheld, software-defined radio with networking and multiband UHF/VHF capability.
Rohde & Schwarz noted that DICOM will be active in advanced research and development. The JV follows co-operation between the two companies on previous projects.
