The membership of the voluntary Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) in the United Kingdom has doubled in the past year, according to the CEO of the company that runs the scheme.
UK industry group ADS led moves to set up JOSCAR in 2014 as a supply chain accreditation system for aerospace, defence, and security companies operating in the UK. JOSCAR is an industry-led and member-governed system that is administered by Oxford-based Hellios Information Limited.
Hellios CEO Colin Maund explained that 10 companies have already applied JOSCAR to their UK supply chains, with another new member about to join. The UK Ministry of Defence is also involved in the scheme (for example, the Submarine Delivery Agency is one of the users).
