Israel-headquartered RADA Electronic Industries Ltd hopes to offer its portfolio of software-defined radars to the US market from the end of 2019, produced in-country via its 100%-owned subsidiary RADA Technologies LLC.
Speaking to Jane's on 11 September during the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition in London, company officials said that the US subsidiary will initially offer the same models as developed by RADA in Israel. However, in future a US-based research and development team could modify the software to meet specific customer requirements, and bespoke US-focused products could be developed.
RADA unveiled two four-dimensional active electronically scanned array radars at DSEI: the advanced Compact Hemispheric Radar (aCHR) for use with active protection systems, and the extended Multimission Hemispheric Radar (xMHR) as a mobile short-range air defence radar.
