The Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare – AM) has a base close to Trapani, Sicily, for the coverage of the Southern Italian air space. The Trapani air base is already equipped with a MULTIFONO® M800IP Voice Communication System (VCS) which has now to be expanded to allow local military personnel to better supervise the area.

It not just a matter of expanding the number of Controller Working Positions, but also to reinforce ancillary (yet not less important) aspects like duplicated power distribution, batteries, loudspeakers, etc. The installation is expected to be completed within the current year.

The material supplied by SITTI is destined to increment the controllers’ capabilities in all three environments constituting the ATC function at the air base:

  • SOR – Sala Operativa di Reparto
  • BOC – Base Operative Center
  • TWR – Airport Tower
