Bulgarian arms exports reached USD844.3 million in 2018, according to the Ministry of Economy's Intergovernmental Export Commission, the country's arms export control body, which submitted its annual report to the Bulgarian Parliament for review on 9 September.
Saudi Arabia was the biggest defence market, purchasing Bulgarian-made arms worth USD170.6 million, followed by India with orders of USD131.2 million and Afghanistan at USD72.9 million.
The top 10 buyers of Bulgarian arms in 2018 also include the United States with purchases worth USD65 million, Turkey USD64 million, Algeria USD60 million, United Arab Emirates USD24.3 million, Azerbaijan USD23.2 million, Poland USD22 million, and Egypt USD21 million.
