The US Air Force (USAF) released more munitions over Afghanistan in August than in the same month in previous years since at least 2008, according to US Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT).
Recently released data shows that USAF manned and unmanned aircraft released 783 munitions over the Central Asian country in August 2019 as part of Operation 'Freedom's Sentinel': 170 more than in the previous month and 68 more than in August 2018.
The data also shows that the USAF released more munitions over Afghanistan during the first eight months of 2019 (4,483) than in the same period in previous years since at least 2008.
