The Indian government has introduced a new policy to support the provision of credit to support defence export opportunities.

The policy was approved in late August and revealed in a notice published by Defence Exports Promotion, an agency under the Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) Department of Defence Production (DDP), on 4 September.

The notice outlines the implementation of a new standard operating procedure (SOP) that the government will adhere to in offering credit to India's defence export customers. The SOP ensures that customers can procure Indian defence equipment at the same price that is offered to the Indian Armed Forces.
