Israeli systems house DSIT, a subsidiary of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, has secured a new contract for a bow-mounted medium-frequency sonar system.

The company revealed on 28 August that an undisclosed Asian navy had procured the bow-mounted Blackfish anti-submarine warfare (ASW) sonar for a frigate application. The contract options provide for the installation of several more hull-mounted and/or bow-mounted sonar systems.

According to DSIT, the same customer had previously procured hull-mounted sonars and an ASW trainer from the company.
