French Air Force engineers have completed the apron and taxiway for a new air transit facility in Senegal, the Ministry of Armed Forces announced on 10 August.

It said the 25th Air Engineer Regiment used 8,000 m 3 of concrete in the work at Blaise Diagne International Airport. The Air Support Operations Group will now begin constructing the facility’s buildings.

The Ministry of Armed Forces announced it was transferring its air transit facility, an important hub for its forces in West Africa, from Senghor International Airport in Dakar after Blaise Diagne was opened east of the capital in December 2017.
