The US government has transferred 60 Bell TH-67 Creek training helicopters to the Colombian Air Force for use by the Armed Forces Helicopter School.
The first 10 TH-67s were loaned in March 2016, followed by 20 more that year and 30 between 2017 and 2018. They have replaced 30 Bell OH-58A Kiowa helicopters that were also loaned from the US government.
The 'new' helicopters are being used to train Colombian military helicopter pilots, as well as pilots from other Latin American armed forces. The helicopter school is part of the Comando Aéreo de Combate No.4 (CACOM-4) based at Melgar Air Base, about 70 km southwest of Bogotá.
