UK reduces risk from programmes

UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) procurement officials appear to have had some success in driving risk out of several high-profile programmes, with the number 'red-flagged' by the UK's Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) dropping from five to one over the past year, according to the authority in its annual report.

Published on 18 July, the report revealed that only the GBP1.6 billion (USD2 billion) Armoured Infantry 2025 project to upgrade Warrior vehicles remained classed as red, indicating "major issues with project definition, schedule, budget, quality, and/or benefits delivery, which at this stage do not appear to be manageable or resolvable".
