New orders slip but Saab H1 profits soar

19 July 2019

Saab registered higher year-on-year sales and operating profits in the first half (H1) of 2019, despite a 23.3% drop in new orders.

Revenues improved by almost 8% compared with the first half of 2018 to SEK16.94 billion (USD1.8 billion) and by 7% organically, Saab announced on 19 July, due partly to higher deliveries from its Dynamics business area.

Operating profits surged by nearly 35% and Saab delivered higher diluted earnings per share of SEK6.20. It attributed negative cash flow of SEK2.7 billion to increased working capital in the Aeronautics business area, where preparations continue to deliver the first Gripen E/F multirole fighters to the Brazilian and Swedish air forces.
