Australia-based company DroneShield announced on 14 July the launch of a new lightweight jammer to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Called the DroneGun MKIII, the device has been described by the company as a pistol-shaped UAV jammer that weighs less than 2 kg, has an effective range of 500 m, and can be used in combination with other DroneShield products, such as the DroneSentinel stationary multi-sensor detection system.
The company also said that the DroneGun MKIII is designed to be an alternative to, rather than a replacement for, the DroneGun Tactical jammer, which has an effective range of 1–2 km.
